Teddy crossed the Rainbow Bridge last Friday

It is always hard when you lose one of your furry children but Teddy was so constantly underfoot because he wanted to hang around with Barb and me all the time that we still find ourselves watching out for him. Teddy was a sable brown exotic short hair who was truly unique. Open a door or cabinet and he appeared out of nowhere. A box arrives from Amazon and when the contents are removed, there's Teddy to take over.

We have a large wok that Barb, my wife, uses for certain dishes. It was left on the stove overnight to dry. When we got up the next morning, Teddy was sleeping in it. He had an affinity for paper and used it as a substitute for food when we slept late and he was hungry. Everybody loved Teddy; the pet sitter, his vet, just anyone who was around him. He would stalk our other cat, Mickey, and pounce out on him, then they would start running around playing.

Mickey misses that. You can tell because, although he seems to be handling Teddy's passing relatively well, we still see him walking around in the places where he and Teddy used to play or just sit and talk to each other. Teddy's girlfriend, Minnie, Mickey's mother, passed away in February of 2017, and before that an older cat, Pebbles, in February of 2016. We have taken in a total of nine kitty kats from shelters and loved every minute of it.

Teddy crossed the Rainbow Bridge after a few years of problems with his heart,
and he also had valley fever. Barb took such good care of him along with all his caregivers that you hardly knew he was ailing. But it all finally caught up with him and he passed over the bridge with the great care of Barb and a wonderful emergency doc. To say the least those last minutes were memorable and we will all remember Teddy for a long time.
