Democrats tighten mid-term contest

It’s the “loyalists” stupid. Many of us have been saying all along that a certain demographic within the Democratic base will emerge in November, realizing that they have to defeat the Republicans. A recent NBC/Wall Street Journal poll reports that African Americans have increased their enthusiasm for voting by 6 points, Hispanics by 11.

When asked which outcome from the election would be most acceptable, 76 percent of likely voters said reducing influence of special interests. Most unacceptable was that Democrat Nancy Pelosi continues as House Speaker, by 57 percent of likely voters. Even if they win, some Democrats lose.
