The lawyer for 18-year-old freshman Dharun Ravi says his client is innocent of a bias crime. Ravi, who, with another freshman, Molly Wei, allegedly taped gay student Tyler Clemente having sex with a man and secretly streamed it online for the world to see. Later Clemente committed suicide. If that isn’t gay bashing, what is? Did the two perps ever tape the guy playing his violin, and stream that online? Adults and the legal system are entirely too lenient on despicable young people like this.
Ravi and Wei should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, and if it doesn’t put them away for at least 25 years, the law should be changed. As a form of bullying this behavior is unacceptable on any level.
